On November 15, more than 400 girls from across our region will come together at the Girls on the Run Piedmont 5K. For many, it will be the first time they have ever crossed a finish line. But the real magic is that they do not have to do it alone. Every registered Girls on the Run participant may bring one Buddy Runner to complete the 5K beside her at no additional cost. We made that decision because every girl deserves to have someone show up for her—someone who encourages her when the course feels hard, celebrates her progress and crosses the finish line by her side.
A family’s finances should never determine whether a girl has that support.
Although Buddy Runners receive course access only, creating a safe, joyful, and memorable 5K experience costs more than $10,000.
Your support helps provide the venue, girls’ shirts and medals, race bibs, team activities, course supplies, water and finish-line refreshments for girls from across our seven-county community.
A gift of $25 provides the 5K experience for one girl and ensures her Buddy Runner can be beside her at no additional cost.
