What does my Local Team Donation support?
Girls on the Run is a youth development program that uses physical activity as a vehicle to help participants build confidence, strengthen social and emotional skills, and develop healthy habits for life. Throughout the season, girls meet with trained volunteer coaches to explore topics such as self-confidence, empathy, communication, goal setting, conflict resolution, and problem solving. The season concludes with a celebratory 5K that brings families and neighbors together, extending far beyond the program.
Sponsoring a LOCAL TEAM means your support stays close to home. Your investment helps ensure girls in your community can participate regardless of a family’s ability to pay, removing financial barriers and creating a more inclusive environment where every girl feels seen and supported. When girls know their community believes in them, that belief carries forward into how they show up for others. The impact of Girls on the Run reaches well beyond the participants. Local sponsorships strengthen ties between businesses and families, demonstrate a dedication to the well-being of young people, and help build a stronger, more connected community for everyone.
